Vastness...

...is one of the most exciting aspects of this land. Huge non-populated plains and mountains 'ere we go yo the desert. There are no fences, animals roam by day, "returning" in the evening.

Lake Ksoval

Camping in small cabins with tiny fireplace to warm us for going to sleep and wake us up...30-degree nights.

Enjoyed bonfire with a few helicopter mechanics in Mongolian Army, family running the camp. Danced the "hokey-pokey" and sang songs to one another. Much fun.

Leaving for Gobi Desert soon. Whole trip quite the adventure.

Visit to Shaman

Calling "spirit" with a mouth harp and explaining how she uses various "tools of the trade." Everything has a purpose...

Off to the north and a lake -- hiking, riding horses -- up at 3:30 to catch 6 plane...

Beauty

Each evening this beautiful young lady makes a small warming fire for us -- deliberately and delicately, returning in the morning (5:30).

And each morning, we begin our day with this sweet and still.beginning!

We are in the agricultural area -- cows, cheese-making, and horses this afternoon. Tomorrow back to the city.

Hollywood: Chinese Theater

We did not see hand or foot prints of stars, but we saw dozens embedded in the sidewalk.

Robin Williams' was cordoned off and filled with flowers.

We took a tour of the Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, Century City and Hollywood areas of LA.

Quite the eye-opener: supremely tacky ( VB ) to extravagantly over the top.

Waiting for flight to Beijing and Mongolia -- still seems rather fairy-like.
